(1) INCI Name: Hydroxyethyl Ethylcellulose
(2) Description: CD-481 is a high molecular weight, nonionic cellulose ether. In addition to its traditional thickening properties, it offers the following enhanced features:
1. Cationic adsorption: Helps reduce static electricity and improves hair smoothness and combability.
2. Hydrophobic group interactions: Hydrophobic moieties on the polymer adsorb onto oil surfaces, preventing oil droplet coalescence and promoting stable water/oil emulsification.
3. Foam enhancement: Improves foaming performance in anionic surfactant systems.
4. Suspension stability: Enhances suspension of particles in formulations, allowing for reduced use of emulsifiers and surfactants.
5. Wide pH tolerance: Effective in a broad pH range from 2 to 12.
6. Excellent thickening effect:0.8% → ~5,000 cps
1.0% → ~10,000 cps
1.2% → ~25,000 cps
7. Non-sticky and smooth skin feel: Easy to spread, forms a film upon drying, and provides a smooth and moisturizing sensation on the skin.
